We are looking for a Production Duty Manager to join us at Taylors of Harrogate, where we blend and manufacture our premium range of tea and coffees, including our famous Yorkshire Tea.
Role Description
The Production Duty Manager role is responsible for operations processes from the receipt of raw materials through processing and packing of our market leading high-quality tea and coffee products. Manufacturing of all goods to meet the highest quality standards. The role is responsible for leading multi skilled teams in a target driven high speed environment ensuring compliance to H&S and Food Safety standards. Duty Managers are responsible for the site out of core working hours.
Day to day responsibilities will include: ensuring adequate skills and resources are available to meet plant requirements and attainments, planning and arranging team members training and development, analysing production figures and defining focus point to target areas for improvement, chair departmental daily and weekly production meetings, ensuring that all matters that require escalation are effectively communicated to the relevant people, conducting concise and informative handovers to colleagues coming on shift.
The successful candidate will report directly into the Yorkshire Tea Manufacturing Area Manager and will support the businesses future growth plans by coaching and engaging teams to implement and drive new and existing business models to improve efficiencies and output.
The Candidate
Our ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role in a food/FMCG manufacturing environment with a demonstratable history of performing a people leader role and have experience of managing a variety of teams up to 20 people.
They will have a passion for working with people, a strong team working ethic, be results driven and have a proactive approach in dealing with situations effectively.
Have the ability to make well informed and considered decisions working autonomously or in a collaborative team environment.
Have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to establish and maintain effective communication channels with all appropriate people internal and external to production.
Be well motivated, robust and be able to demonstrate the ability to lead change and maintain your energy in challenging situations.
Role model expected behaviours and support the rest of their team in demonstrating these, by setting a good example.
Be responsible for all aspects of people administration for your team, from recruitment, inductions, management of probationary periods, holidays, absence and appraisals.
Have excellent IT skills, processing knowledge, be highly organised with coaching and mentoring experience.
Be open to change, adaptable and able to pick things up and run with them in a fast-paced environment.
You will be a quick thinking, analytical, data driven problem solver. Coaches front line team members allowing them to step up and solve problems.

This role is working a 24/7 shift pattern which involves working alternating day and night shifts, averaging 33.2 hours per week with a 10-day break in between shift cycles.
