Line Lead

At Taylors of Harrogate, everything is done proper. From Yorkshire Tea to Taylors of Harrogate coffee and tea.  We’re looking for an inspiring and motivating Operations Leader to take on the role of Line Lead within our factory.

About the Role

This is an operational role, and you will be responsible for leading a line structure team consisting of a Process Lead and Maintenance Lead, and production team of c20 operators working across five 247 shifts, taking 247 accountability of the results on the line. A key responsibility of the Line Lead is to develop and coach our operational processes across all shifts following our Integrated Work System (IWS) methodologies, ensuring delivery of “proper brews” through our Operating Model with safety first and quality always.  Through visible leadership, you’ll coach, support and empower your team to drive change through collaboration, continuous improvement, and teamwork.

Other key responsibilities include;

  • Analysis of business performance for their line to identify trends & areas for improvement, celebrate success, and working with the Process Lead and Maintenance Lead to ensure continuous improvement plans are in place and implemented.
  • Ensuring that all system training (DCS, IFS, etc) within the line is carried out and up to date. 
  • Lead safety & quality on their line and conduct or delegate any investigation with the help of Safety & Quality representatives and other experts as necessary.  
  • Coach the how and why of Initial Problem Solving, Unified Problem Solving, Work Process Improvement, including 6W2H and coach to complete in a timely manner for the elimination of key loss.
  • Full people management responsibility for the line team, including all people policies and procedures (e.g. absence management and return to works, investigation, disciplinary & grievance procedures). 

This is a full-time, onsite role, working 40 hours per week, predominantly Monday to Friday between the hours of 7am to 7pm.  There is a requirement to flex your working hours into the evening and weekends to engage with and support the people on your line working on extended shift patterns.
