This is a broad and influential leadership role, responsible for shaping and executing a multi-year programme that will modernise the Group Finance landscape, improve operational efficiency and strengthen data-driven decision-making. You will lead specialist teams and work across organisational boundaries to ensure transformation initiatives deliver measurable and lasting value.

As a member of the Group Finance Leadership Team, you will bring your knowledge of transformation, technology, systems and emerging practice to help shape the Group Finance strategy. • Setting and delivering the strategy and lifecycle approach for finance-owned systems.
  • Working with finance leaders and Learning and Development, lead the development of skills within Group Finance, building a continuous skills-development programme aligned with finance career pathways and future capability needs.
  • Transforming, simplifying, standardising and automating end-to-end finance processes while embedding appropriate controls and consistency.
  • Establishing and governing finance data processes and frameworks to support data integrity, quality, compliance and effective decision-making.
  • Providing leadership oversight for the Group-wide project management team.
  • Championing continuous improvement and helping colleagues adopt new technologies, processes and ways of working.
  • Defining meaningful KPIs and success measures for finance change initiatives, using performance insight to track progress and adjust delivery where necessary.
  • Building strong external networks and maintaining an informed view of emerging technologies and market developments.
  • Translating external insight and the “art of the possible” into practical solutions that add value to the Group.
  • Contributing knowledge, experience and constructive challenge as a member of the Group Finance Leadership Team, helping shape and embed the wider Group Finance strategy.

About you

You will bring:

  • An appropriate professional accountancy qualification, such as CIMA, ACCA, ACA or CPA, or equivalent demonstrable finance systems expertise.
  • A successful track record of delivering complex, cross-functional programmes at scale.
  • Significant experience of continuous improvement, process excellence or a comparable transformation discipline.
  • Experience of leading multidisciplinary teams and operating within complex stakeholder environments.
  • The ability to define and execute a multi-year roadmap aligned with business strategy and finance priorities.
  • Strong technology literacy and an informed understanding of how emerging and existing technologies can improve business performance.
  • The ability to lead systems implementation, process redesign, automation or other significant organisational change.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the emotional intelligence to establish effective internal and external partnerships.

You will be collaborative and pragmatic, with the confidence to challenge established thinking and the adaptability to change course when evidence suggests a better approach. Above all, you will be motivated by the opportunity to create a modern, effective and insight-led finance function that supports the Group’s ambitions for the future.
